OPENING JULY 2010
Willow View specialises in residential care for 2 service users with moderate to severe learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and associated mental health issues.
Care
Willow View provides person-centred care to support each one of our service users to achieve his or her potential. Activities which we facilitate include fishing, gardening, and riding, and we encourage service users to obtain qualifications.
Willow View is able to deliver ASDAN (Award Scheme Development & Accreditation Network). ASDAN enables service users to gain recognised qualifications within a wide range of programmes suited to individual abilities and interests.
The daily routine is designed around each service user’s requirements, using techniques such as predictable planning, multimedia or other communication methods tailored to individual preferences.
Staff
Steve Tayler, the Registered Home Manager, has over 14 years experience working with people with profound learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and/or complex health needs. He holds an NVQ Level 3 & 4, is an NVQ Assessor and has recently completed the Leadership & Managers Award.
Environment
Willow View is a large, airy bungalow with generous proportions which has been sympathetically modernised to meet the needs of our service user group.
It has two bedrooms, both of which are above 12 sq m in size and thus much larger than normal for this type of home. There is a large modern communal kitchen/dining room. Bathroom, office and a lounge which overlooks the back garden.
Willow View is situated close to the centre of the former market town of Warminster and is ideally situated to assist service user involvement in their local community. Shops, restaurants, clubs, associations, sports centre and a swimming pool are all in close proximity.
